Who Is Kriya Capital?
Kriya Capital, LLC operates as a debt collector/debt buyer. Unlike most companies on this list, Kriya Capital does not maintain the kind of public-facing consumer website, published address, or listed customer-service phone number that most collection agencies use to route disputes and payments. Public entity databases and the CFPB’s own complaint records confirm the company’s existence and its high complaint volume, but The Prado Law Firm was not able to independently verify a current public street address or a dedicated consumer telephone line for Kriya Capital as of this writing.
That gap in public information is itself worth taking seriously: a legitimate debt collector is required under the FDCPA to identify itself clearly and to provide a real, working address to which you can send a written dispute. If a caller says they represent Kriya Capital, ask them directly for the company’s mailing address and a callback number, and get it in writing before you discuss any account details.
Complaint Volume
The Prado Law Firm’s review of the CFPB Consumer Complaint Database (debt collection complaints, January 2023–present) found Kriya Capital, LLC ranked among the more heavily complained-about debt collectors nationally, with the CFPB’s own public data showing complaint categories that include allegations of false statements or representations and attempting to collect the wrong amount.
Your Rights Under the FDCPA and TCPA
Regardless of how hard a company is to research, your rights don’t change:
• Any debt collector must provide written validation of the debt — the amount, the original creditor, and your right to dispute it within 30 days — upon request.
• A collector must identify itself and is prohibited from using false, deceptive, or misleading representations, including about the amount or legal status of a debt.
• No calls before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m., no workplace calls once you’ve objected, and no repeated or harassing call patterns.
• The right to demand in writing that contact stop.
• The right to sue for statutory and actual damages plus attorney’s fees for FDCPA/TCPA violations — usually at no cost to you.
What To Do Next
If you’ve been contacted by someone identifying as Kriya Capital, don’t make a payment or provide personal or financial information until you’ve received written validation confirming the debt, the amount, and a legitimate mailing address for the company. Keep a detailed log of every call — date, time, number, and what was said.
If Kriya Capital (or anyone collecting on its behalf) has misrepresented the amount you owe, failed to properly identify itself, or continued contact after you requested validation, you may have a claim. Contact The Prado Law Firm for a free case review — and if you have information (letters, account numbers, or contact details) confirming how Kriya Capital operates, we’d welcome hearing about it as part of your case.
